Getting started as a DJ: which equipment to hire for mixing?
You don't need to be a pro to mix at a party. The right equipment depends on your level and the effect you are after. An overview of the options, from the simplest to the most complete.
The all-in-one DJ system (the simplest)
The Pioneer XDJ-RX2 combines two decks and a mixer in a single unit, with a touchscreen. Plug in a USB stick (or rekordbox / Serato) and off you go. Ideal for beginners or for a hassle-free party.
The high-end 4-channel option
For a demanding performance, the OPUS-QUAD offers 4 channels and a large curved screen. For those who want the very best, and remarkably enjoyable to play.
What do you connect the DJ decks to?
DJ decks don't make any sound on their own: they need a sound system. Choose it according to your audience — see our guide which sound system for your number of guests — then put everything together on the booking page.
USB stick or computer?
Our DJ systems work standalone with a simple USB stick (tracks prepared with rekordbox), without a computer. Prefer to play from your laptop? They are also compatible with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro.
Frequently asked questions
Which DJ equipment for a complete beginner?
The XDJ-RX2 all-in-one DJ system is the most accessible: two decks and a mixer built in, a touchscreen, and playback from a simple USB stick. It is the best starting point.
Do I need a computer to mix?
No. Our DJ systems play straight from a USB stick (tracks prepared with rekordbox), without a computer. They are still compatible with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro if you prefer to mix from a laptop.
Do the DJ decks come with speakers?
No, the DJ decks and the sound system are separate items that you combine. You can book both together: we take care of connecting and tuning them on delivery.
