Sound for a wedding: ceremony, drinks reception and party
A wedding is really three very different moments to provide sound for: the ceremony, the drinks reception and the dance party. Each has its own needs. Here is how to cover the whole day without any unpleasant surprises.
The ceremony (secular or civil)
Here, what matters most is clear speech and gentle music. A pair of speakers such as the FBT — 2 speakers with a microphone is enough. Plan a microphone for the officiants and the readings.
The drinks reception
You want an atmosphere that is present but not intrusive, often outdoors. The same pair of speakers does the job; for a large garden, go one size up. It is also the ideal moment for a compact, self-contained solution.
The dance party
Time for the bass. Depending on the number of guests, go for the FBT complete system with 1 subwoofer (up to ~150 people) or the FBT complete system with 2 subwoofers beyond that. Add DJ decks — see how to size your sound system.
Lighting and effects for atmosphere

Frequently asked questions
How many speakers for a wedding of 100 people?
Two speakers and a subwoofer (FBT complete system with 1 subwoofer) comfortably cover a dance party of around a hundred guests. For the ceremony and the drinks reception, two speakers on their own are enough.
Do I need a technician for the party?
No: the equipment is delivered, set up and tuned by our team, ready to use. You or your DJ just have to start the music. An on-site technical presence can be considered on request.
Can a microphone be connected for the speeches?
Yes, a microphone plugs directly into the sound system provided. Remember to let us know when you book so everything is ready on the day.
Do you handle several spaces (ceremony then party)?
Yes. We size the equipment to cover the different moments of the day and organise the set-up accordingly, including when the ceremony and the party take place in different parts of the estate.
